On Saturday, December 12, a Rorate Mass was offered at 6:30 AM at St. Joseph. Fr. Stinson, FSSP was the celebrant; Fr. Kiefer, FSSP was the deacon; and Fr. Heffernan, FSSP was the subdeacon. This is a beautiful custom whereby Mass is celebrated illuminated only by candlelight. The Mass is a Votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin, and so it is celebrated in white, rather than Advent purple. In the dimly lit setting, priests and faithful prepare to honor the Light of the world, Who is soon to be born, and offer praise to God for the gift of Our Lady. As the Mass proceeds and sunrise approaches, the church becomes progressively brighter, illumined by the sun as our Faith is illumined by Christ. The Solemn High Mass, honoring Our Lady, was followed by breakfast in St. Joseph's Hall.
